Ms C lives in a ground floor flat on a main road next to Brockwell Park in Herne Hill. The traditional sash windows are very large, almost floor to ceiling and include an interesting design in the top sashes. These upper sashes have a wooden detail, a number of glazing bars and a curved design.
Given that these sash windows are the dominant feature of the front façade of the property it is important that replacements were well made to replicate the traditional design.
In addition to matching the original design our new windows were also a significant upgrade to the thermal efficiency of the property, especially as they are located in a bedroom.
As well as the installation of two complete new box sashes windows we installed tier-on-tier plantation shutters to provide privacy and light control.
