Is It Time To Replace Your Windows?

When casement windows begin to deteriorate, it might be time to have them replaced. You may begin to notice significant wear and tear, damaged hinges and locks, or cold air entering through your windows.

We can remove your old windows and replace them with brand new, bespoke casement windows. The team are always happy to accommodate your requirements.

We work with customers in and around London, or further afield when required. Please don’t hesitate to ask us about your new casement windows, wherever you might be based. We will be more than happy to arrange your survey for you.

If you would like to consider other options, please contact our team and they will be happy to discuss your options with you.

Why do you need new casement windows?

Casement windows are strong and resilient, but even the very best quality windows have to put up with a lot. Constant opening and closing, harsh weather conditions and general wear and tear over the years all contribute to deterioration. Many homes are now built with lower quality windows that are cheaper for developers to install. Replace them with new casement windows, and your new windows will last well into the future.

New casement windows will benefit you in the following ways:

    • Create better insulation, keeping your property warmer
    • Improve aesthetics for an upgraded internal and external appearance
    • Give you the opportunity to create your ideal window
    • Prevent draughts and cold spots forming inside your property

Frequently asked questions about replacing your casement windows

For casement window replacements, it’s really important to work with a company that is trustworthy, reliable and above all has the skills and experience to deliver your project to the highest standards. You will likely have lots of questions, and to help with this, we have prepared some answers to questions that we typically get asked by our clients. To help us to understand your project in all its detail, we would be delighted to meet with you in person.

A simple casement window installation should not take longer than one day to replace but it depends on the exact circumstances of the job. Factors which influence the length of time required on the job include the following: the overall size of the window (because larger windows will sometimes take longer to install), the floor level of the window (if you are on the fifth floor then it will take your installation team considerably longer to get all their materials in place than if you were on the ground floor), and preparation work done by the customer (if the customer has left a good, clear space of 1-2 meters in front of the window in advance of installation, then this will make life easier for the installation team thereby reducing the time required on site).

There are two types of casement windows, which are the most commonly manufactured and fitted by us at Wandsworth Sash Windows. The first is the rectangular type with a fixed bottom section and a small top opener, often used in a bathroom or WC. The second is a double-casement, often referred to as a ‘French casement’, which has two equal sides and opens outwards from the middle. Although these are the most common, we are not limited to offering only these types of casement windows, we can offer highly bespoke designs and styles which can really complement and enhance the overall appearance of your home.

Here at Wandsworth Sash Windows we are used to working in traditional homes and often in accordance with conservation area rules. In many cases, we can use the existing casement window design to manufacture and install a close replica.

Normally we like to schedule a site visit in order to take a look, go through the options with you and then email you with a quote. Our survey visits are free of charge and no-obligation. We find it is useful to meet you in person to answer any questions you might have and to make sure we understand your requirements before sending out our quote. If you would like to proceed after receiving a quote then we will complete a pre-order process with you to sign off on all the details and then arrange for our joinery surveyor to come out and take all final measurements so the order can be submitted to our workshop.

At Wandsworth Sash Windows, all of our replacement window options come with a comprehensive 10-year guarantee which is insurance-backed and underwritten by us. This gives you peace of mind and total confidence in your investment. We understand that unexpected things might happen in the future and if it does we are always here to help.
