Generally, 2015 was something of a ‘meh’ year – no Olympics, World Cup or European Championships, and a general election that was over as soon as the exit poll results were announced!
However, 2015 turned out to be quite an exciting one for Wandsworth Sash Windows. We’ve seen our company build upon its past successes to establish itself as one of the premier Sash Window companies in London and beyond.
Despite our growth we have not lost sight of what has made us great in the first place – our rigid commitment towards customer satisfaction!
Let’s look back on what made 2015 so memorable for Wandsworth Sash Windows …
Throughout the year we maintained our commitment to our apprenticeship scheme and we are now firmly witnessing the benefits. Our first apprentices are now fully qualified as professional carpenters following their completion of a two-year college course. Their training is not over though – for the foreseeable future they will be enhancing their skills by shadowing members of our highly-experienced team. We’ve more apprentices who are making their way through this scheme, and we’re always open to acquiring the best in new talent.
In March we were proud to open our second showroom, on the corner of Brockley Road and Merritt Road in Brockley. This was a significant milestone for us, with it being our first expansion into new areas. We’ve been delighted by the results so far – a heartening reaction from the local community and plenty of satisfied customers.
In June our website was significantly upgraded to give it a much more contemporary look. The site is now regularly updated with all of our latest projects, and we publish frequent articles that we hope showcase our thoughts and passions, as well as sharing pertinent industry news.
We had a busy summer too – in July we obtained a brand new head office, plus a new showroom in Sydenham in South East London. We also expanded our in-house production team. With the new office came several new office roles which we swiftly filled with talented people, and we added to our logistical fleet with the purchase of several new vans.
In October we made a major purchase with the acquisition of Parsons Joinery. This allowed us to expand our team of expertly trained carpenters, and to offer our services to the people of Lewesd the surrounding areas. It also meant we are now able to expand beyond the realm of windows, doors and glazing. We can now supply bi-folding doors, roof lanterns, orangeries and even bespoke fitted furniture.
So, that was our 2015 … and our year of success has given us quite the challenge – how are we to top what we achieved? We plan to continue with our highly-successful apprenticeship scheme, to give back to all the local communities we are involved with, to further expand our office team, and to extend our reach throughout the South East.
