Overview

In September (2024), we completed a significant project for our client. The project entailed installing new windows in three different areas of their home: the living room, bathroom, and kitchen. Each location required a unique approach to window supply and installation.

Project Description

This project included fitting and setting up a stylish new casement window bay in the living room on the ground floor at the front of the house and two sleek Doc L casement windows, one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. Each installation was carried out with great attention to detail, using top-quality materials and custom finishes to improve the home’s look and functionality while upholding the highest standards of workmanship.

The living room

The living room featured a high-quality window with a solid redwood frame and a versatile hardwood sill, ensuring both durability and quality. This double-glazed window had a ovolo moulding boasts toughened glass and an argon-filled warm edge spacer for enhanced insulation. The modern Teknos Spray Finish in White Gloss gave the window a sleek and contemporary look, both inside and out, adding to the overall aesthetics of the client’s living space. The ironmongery includes Connoisseur Handles in polished brass, a multipoint locking system with Kenrick extension and gearbox in polished chrome, and a large Ogee architrave surrounds for an elegant finish.

Result:

The new bay window transformed the living room, bringing in more natural light and providing a sleek, modern look. The polished brass hardware and expertly crafted woodwork enhanced the room’s appeal, while the multipoint locking system enhanced security. The client was particularly pleased with the window’s thermal performance due to the high-quality glazing and argon-filled spacers.

The kitchen

The kitchen featured a Doc L casement window from the Standard Casement Range, with a solid Redwood frame and Solid Utile Hardwood sill. The window was double-glazed with Ovolo moulding, and the fanlight and casement were made of clear toughened glass with an argon-filled warm edge spacer. The finish was a Teknos Spray Finish in White Gloss, both internally and externally, including the sill. The ironmongery includes a Defender friction hinge (side-hung), Kenrick extensions and gearbox in polished chrome, Connoisseur Handles (left hand) in polished brass, and a white Trickle Vent. The surround feature was a quadrant bead with external detailing.

Result:

The kitchen window installation not only enhanced ventilation but also ensured security. The friction hinge and Kenrick Extension Gear Box in Polished Chrome with a multipoint locking system ensured ease of operation and durability. The polished brass handles added a classic touch to the kitchen, while the white gloss finish provided a clean and contemporary look. The client was particularly pleased with how well the new window integrated with the kitchen design, making them feel secure and comfortable in their home.

The Bathroom

The window type was a Doc L casement window from the Standard Casement Range, featuring a solid redwood frame and a solid utile hardwood sill. It was double-glazed with Ovolo moulding and included a sandblasted toughened glass with an argon-filled warm edge spacer for the fanlight and casement. The finish was a Teknos Spray Finish in White Gloss for both the internal and external sides, including the sill. The ironmongery included a polished chrome Defender, a white Trickle Vent, and a multipoint locking system for enhanced security. The surround features quadrant beads with bull nosing for a clean and refined finish.

Result:

The bathroom window installation achieved a perfect balance of style and practicality. It significantly improved the room’s energy efficiency and added privacy with the sandblasted glass. The polished chrome hardware complemented the modern bathroom design, while the trickle vent allowed for adequate ventilation without compromising security, showcasing our design expertise and reassuring our audience.
